Our Story...

Last nights message from church was my favorite of all time...
It was truly meant for my husband and me to hear...
And all we kept saying was
" This is our life " and " This is our story "
This is why we do what we do...
We work where God puts us...
We stay when the world says go...
We are not any better than the person next door...
But we have walked a path where God was second, and we were first.
It doesn't work people... I promise.

Your life isn't meant to be easy... you will have struggle, heartache, and pain in this life. You will also see grace and mercy... you will see a God that loves you and is fighting for you!

If you have followed one of my many instagram accounts... then you would know that one of them told you our story here

And since posting that... we have created so many more chapters... that one day I will share. Until then happy Sunday friends.

At Home with Bri Moysa...

Welcome to another "At home with " series. I can't tell you how excited I get to share these spaces that we usually only get to see in small squares.

Bri Moysa is a mommy of two and wife to one. She has killer home style and runs her interior design company from home. I love how she brings so many elements together without over doing it... oh and I totally have pillow envy!!!!!

Meet Bri...

Location?

Orange County, CA

How many years in your current home and what's the square footage?

3 years and 1,008 sq. ft.

How did you get into interior design?

Ever since I was a little girl I would rearrange my room, pick out new bedding etc.  Design has been a passion of mine for so long.  As I was getting closer to college I knew that design was what I wanted to do.  Just like so many situations in life, my college career didn't quite go to plan, but I'm not mad about it at all.  I feel in love at the age of 19, was engaged at 23, married at 24 and a mom at 25.  Through out all that time I had been managing a high end baby boutique, heading their design department.  I loved working with customers to create the perfect custom crib bedding sets, picking out complimentary nursery furniture and accessories.  This is what drove me to finally start Emerson Grey Designs where I specialize in nurseries and kids spaces, but am not limited to them.  I knew I wanted to stay home with my two kiddos and EGD has allowed me to do that.

Where are your favorite places to shop for your home?

You can pretty much find me at Target at least twice a week so you know I'm grabbing all the Nate Berkus and Threshold items that keep appearing.  I also love Urban Outfitters, West Elm, CB2 and of course, Ikea.  I also love supporting all the talented ladies I have found through Instagram and Etsy.

Tell us about the way you decorated your home.

This is the first home we have ever owned, so I wanted to start slowly and conservatively with the design.  I knew I wanted a more modern aesthetic, but with a touch of boho beachy.  When we first moved into our home I was sticking with black, white and grey and I'm glad I did.  It allowed me to get a feel of our new home and slowly bring in pieces that feel very "us."  Three years later I am loving the pieces we've brought in.  I have supported many talented ladies I have found through Instagram and that to me makes the pieces in our home even more special.  We are a super casual family so I've tried to keep the feeling in our home very relaxed.

What is your biggest sources of inspiration?

100% it is the amazing ladies I have found through Instagram.

What advice would you give someone when decorating in a space with limited square footage?

My advice would be don't look at it as limited.  Instead look at it as meaningful.  We have made every area of our home work for us.  Just because where my office is should be the eating nook, doesn't mean we've lost a specific space, rather we've created a new one.  Try not to focus on what should be...rather focus on making what you have in your home, the best it can be.  I love my little office, family hub area and know it has completely made our lives run smoother.  So appreciate the spaces you create no matter their title.

How do you find balance with work and your family?

I'm still finding it, ha!  Over the last few years it has gotten a bit easier now that my kids are both in school.  I try hard to get my work done while they are there so that when they are home I can be mom.  It doesn't always work out because there are some days that I just don't want to work while they are at school, I'd rather go grab a coffee and roam Target.  Oh you know you all love to do this too.  So, on those days I either balance working when they get home or I choose to double my work load the next day.  Thankfully being my own boss I have the luxury of making these decisions.

At Home with Ashly Fritch...

A momma of three boys and married to a business owner/ tattoo artist...
Ashly is the perfect blend of rocker chic meets rustic farm house. She is the queen of DIY and never disappoints when it comes to finding a deal. I know you will fall in love with her style just as much as her sweet soul...

Meet Ashly...

Where are you located?

Northern California

How many years have you been in your current home?

We have lived in our current home for about 10 months

How would you describe your personal style?

I would probably have to describe my personal style as rocker chic with a little boho flair!

Where are your favorite places to shop for your home?

My favorite places to shop for our home would definitely have to be Homegoods,
Marshalls, and Target!! I am a frequent flyer at all of these places and let's just say they've gotten to know the kiddos and I quite well! I've always been a bargain shopper and I love finding those amazing pieces in Homegoods for such a killer deal that you can't find everywhere, I always feel like I've found a treasure!

Tell us about the way you decorated your home.

My goodness, that's a hard one! I think I would describe the style for our home as more of a modern farmhouse style with a little bit of a boho edge thrown in here and there. I love the comfort and coziness of the farmhouse style, but I also love the edge and contemporary feel that comes along with the modern style. And I'm a sucker for fur and fringe!!

What are your biggest sources of inspiration?

So I'm definitely a huge fan of 'Fixer Upper' on HGTV, I get a ton of inspiration from that show!! I'm also a guilty of being one of those Pinterest addicts, I love browsing through all of the amazing homes and DIY projects. And of course the IG world has been such a wonderful inspiration. I have found soo many talented women through the IG community who are not only extremely inspirational but are also just genuinely amazing ladies and it has been a true blessing to cross paths with everyone.

What is your favorite DIY project to date?

Goodness, we have done soooo many DIY projects but I would have to say my favorite one to date is our dining room table. My husband it such a handyman and he built our dining table and then handed it off to me to stain, it holds a lot of sentimental value for us because we made it together.  And to think about all of the family dinners and conversations that will happen at that table is something pretty neat! One day I will be sitting at that table with three teenage boys!!!

Where do you spend most of your time in your home?

We spend most of our time in our living room. I've always loved open floor plans so when we found our house I was beyond happy that our living room, dining area and kitchen was one huge room. It makes it easy not only for entertaining purposes but as a mom it is great because I am able to be in the kitchen and still be able to keep an eye on my three very busy little dudes!

How do you balance being a wife, mother and having a career?

The key to balancing being a mother, wife and having a career is accepting the fact that there will never be balance. I used to be so hard on myself when things would get off track and when I would have those days or even months when I felt like I was barely keeping my head above water but I've learned to put any worries I have in God's hands and accept that fact that as long as I'm doing the best I can at that moment then that is enough. I'm also blessed to have an amazing husband who is beyond helpful and my biggest supporter in everything I do. Without him by my side I wouldn't be able to do everything I do!

What is your favorite thing to do with your boys?

Laugh, just laugh!!! My favorite time with my boys is when we are running around the house having tickle sessions and being goofy. Those are the purest and simplest moments! There is just something about hearing laughter fill your house that makes you think... This is what being a Mommy is all about and isn't God oh so Good!!
