At Home with Bri Moysa...

Welcome to another "At home with " series. I can't tell you how excited I get to share these spaces that we usually only get to see in small squares.

Bri Moysa is a mommy of two and wife to one. She has killer home style and runs her interior design company from home. I love how she brings so many elements together without over doing it... oh and I totally have pillow envy!!!!!

Meet Bri...

Location?

Orange County, CA

How many years in your current home and what's the square footage?

3 years and 1,008 sq. ft.

How did you get into interior design?

Ever since I was a little girl I would rearrange my room, pick out new bedding etc.  Design has been a passion of mine for so long.  As I was getting closer to college I knew that design was what I wanted to do.  Just like so many situations in life, my college career didn't quite go to plan, but I'm not mad about it at all.  I feel in love at the age of 19, was engaged at 23, married at 24 and a mom at 25.  Through out all that time I had been managing a high end baby boutique, heading their design department.  I loved working with customers to create the perfect custom crib bedding sets, picking out complimentary nursery furniture and accessories.  This is what drove me to finally start Emerson Grey Designs where I specialize in nurseries and kids spaces, but am not limited to them.  I knew I wanted to stay home with my two kiddos and EGD has allowed me to do that.

Where are your favorite places to shop for your home?

You can pretty much find me at Target at least twice a week so you know I'm grabbing all the Nate Berkus and Threshold items that keep appearing.  I also love Urban Outfitters, West Elm, CB2 and of course, Ikea.  I also love supporting all the talented ladies I have found through Instagram and Etsy.

Tell us about the way you decorated your home.

This is the first home we have ever owned, so I wanted to start slowly and conservatively with the design.  I knew I wanted a more modern aesthetic, but with a touch of boho beachy.  When we first moved into our home I was sticking with black, white and grey and I'm glad I did.  It allowed me to get a feel of our new home and slowly bring in pieces that feel very "us."  Three years later I am loving the pieces we've brought in.  I have supported many talented ladies I have found through Instagram and that to me makes the pieces in our home even more special.  We are a super casual family so I've tried to keep the feeling in our home very relaxed.

What is your biggest sources of inspiration?

100% it is the amazing ladies I have found through Instagram.

What advice would you give someone when decorating in a space with limited square footage?

My advice would be don't look at it as limited.  Instead look at it as meaningful.  We have made every area of our home work for us.  Just because where my office is should be the eating nook, doesn't mean we've lost a specific space, rather we've created a new one.  Try not to focus on what should be...rather focus on making what you have in your home, the best it can be.  I love my little office, family hub area and know it has completely made our lives run smoother.  So appreciate the spaces you create no matter their title.

How do you find balance with work and your family?

I'm still finding it, ha!  Over the last few years it has gotten a bit easier now that my kids are both in school.  I try hard to get my work done while they are there so that when they are home I can be mom.  It doesn't always work out because there are some days that I just don't want to work while they are at school, I'd rather go grab a coffee and roam Target.  Oh you know you all love to do this too.  So, on those days I either balance working when they get home or I choose to double my work load the next day.  Thankfully being my own boss I have the luxury of making these decisions.
